Our Carpentry Shop provides skilled craftsmanship and comprehensive maintenance services to support the university’s facilities and infrastructure. The team performs a wide range of carpentry duties, including framing, installation and repair of doors and screen doors, windows and frames, baseboards, cabinetry, and furniture.

In addition, our carpenters manage a variety of projects, including maintenance of existing structures, roofing and gutter repairs, and painting and finishing work, ensuring that campus buildings remain safe, functional, and well maintained.

Through quality workmanship and attention to detail, the Carpentry Shop plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and appearance of university facilities.

The HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Shop at BYUH Facilities Management is dedicated to maintaining optimal indoor climates across campus. Our skilled technicians install, repair, and maintain a wide range of HVAC systems, ensuring reliable performance, superior air quality, and energy efficiency.

We utilize advanced climate control technologies and work diligently to create comfortable, safe, and healthy indoor environments. The Plumbing Shop provides comprehensive plumbing services, including installation, maintenance, and emergency repairs. From repairing leaks to installing new systems, our skilled plumbers ensure the efficient and reliable operation of campus plumbing systems. Their commitment to quality workmanship maintains high standards across all university facilities.

The shop also performs preventative maintenance to reduce disruptions and extend the lifespan of plumbing structures across campus facilities. By conducting routine inspections and addressing issues early, the team helps prevent costly repairs and unexpected downtime.

The Electrical Shop at BYUH Facilities Management is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across campus. Our electricians ensure that all facilities are safely powered and compliant with current electrical codes and safety standards.

In addition to service calls and project work, the Electrical Shop conducts regular inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they become disruptions. This proactive approach helps reduce downtime, extend the lifespan of electrical equipment, and maintain the continuous operation of lighting, power distribution, and critical systems throughout the university.

The Appliance Shop provides maintenance and repair services for a wide range of campus appliances. The team services oven ranges, range hoods, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and microwaves, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Through timely repairs and routine maintenance, the Appliance Shop helps extend the lifespan of appliances and supports the daily needs of residential and campus facilities.

The Access Services Shop manages and controls both physical and electronic access to campus buildings and secured spaces. The team issues and tracks metal keys and access cards, maintains locking systems, and ensures access is granted only with proper authorization.

They promptly update and deactivate credentials as needed and assist with lockouts during normal business hours. Through careful monitoring and effective system management, the shop plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for the entire campus community.

The Housing Maintenance Shop addresses a broad range of maintenance needs within the university’s residential communities. Serving as the first responders for maintenance requests, the team supports the Hales for single students, Temple View Apartments (TVA) for married students, and Faculty Housing, ensuring that living spaces remain safe, functional, and comfortable.

Their responsibilities include carpet and tile flooring repairs; window and door maintenance; ceiling repairs; minor plumbing repairs for toilets, showers, and sinks; general electrical repairs for outlets and lighting; and cabinet and furniture maintenance. Work requiring more extensive time or specialized expertise is coordinated with other Facilities Management shops. The Housing Maintenance Shop plays a vital role in supporting a positive residential experience for students and faculty families.
